EMBRYO TRANSFER PROGRAM
You can now have the best of both worlds - have a foal from your mare and continue her ridden career without interruption. Embryo transfer is also a wonderful option for mares where pregnancy presents health risks, is difficult to carry to term or where multiple births are desired (not necessarily all from the same stallion!)

Dreamcatcher Meadows has a growing reputation for providing full embryo transfer services in addition to its traditional breeding program. Several articles have featured our work and explain the process. See the following under the link NEWS:

ONE STOP SHOP

Everything you need to have a positive ET experience is available at Dreamcatcher Meadows. We have found that the use of fresh semen increases the chances of success. Your mare can be bred with semen collected from one of our stallions and directly inseminated; the closest experience to natural cover. Chilled or frozen semen from commercial stallions is another option. All procedures from scanning to actual flushing and embryo transfer are conducted directly on the premises in the specialized breeding barn, complete with laboratory

RECIPIENTS

The recipient mare that will carry your foal is a very important part of the successful ET equation. We primarily use thoroughbreds that are adopted from the New Stride Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. These mares that have through no fault of their own ended up at the end of their useful lives, are given a new career and eutopian life as surrogate mothers. Please see our Rescues link for more information about our "Girls' Club".
