EMBRYO TRANSFER PROGRAM
Dreamcatcher Meadows along with Dr. Quinn Gavaga offers performance horse owners the opportunity to breed a foal from their own performance mare while keeping their horse in the competition ring. Jill Giese did exactly this with her mare Dreamcatcher Elite and produced three top quality foals in 2002 while winning numerous dressage competitions. Dreamcatcher Elite did not have to go through the risk of a pregnancy and did not develop a "mare" attitude to training. Like Jill you can achieve the best of both worlds. You can choose to use one of our stallions with the advantage of fresh semen or select a stallion of your choice. The process requires your mare to locate to Pemberton for an eight week period during the spring with the objective of achieving a successful transfer for foal delivery the following year. We have 12 recipient mares on site. Five of these mares bore foals in 2007 and we have four currently carrying. John Dingle former manager of an elite dairy breeding operation and lifetime horse enthusiast transfers these skills to the horse breeding industry in Canada. John and Dr. Quinn Gavaga have enjoyed two successful seasons of breeding success and are pleased to discuss with you the risks, costs and benefits from embryo transfer.
