PEDIGREE BACKGROUND

Dam Line

GRANDE: 1958 Ch 162cm Hanoverian. One of Germany's “Eternal Top Ten Sires,” founded “one of the most versatile and outstanding performance lines of Hanoverians since the war.” 33 approved sons, 34 states premium mares, 3 Olympic show-jumpers,”but it was his grandchildren that seem to have been the real stars.” He was “represented by 6 medal winners at the 1992 Olympics alone.”

FURIOSO 11: 1965 sired 81 approved sons, 96 dams of approved sons, and progeny earnings of DM 9,000,000. For many years, Furioso II was ranked in the top three sires of leading money winners in Germany. Furioso II had winners in all disciplines. His showjumping stars included: FBI (with Thomas Frühmann), Heissman (ridden by Eric Van Der Vleuten, then Michael Matz) and For Pleasure. Perhaps Furioso II’s most influential son is Voltaire - out of a mare by another classic sire of jumping horses, Gotthard. Voltaire is the sire of 33 approved sons and top jumpers like Finesse and Altaire. In dressage, his son, Purioso is the sire of numerous stars including Anky van Grunsven’s Grand Prix horse Cocktail (who is the sire of Jazz); Le Mexico is the sire of Ulft, who in turn is the sire of Ferro. The Oldenburg stallion Welt As is out of a Furioso II daughter, and is the sire of Anky’s gold medallist Bonfire and Christine Stückelberger’s Grand Prix horse, STC Diamond.
DARLING: 1971 Br/B 166cm/16.1h Hanoverian. Ldb Celle. Won 1st of 18 at his Stallion performance test at W. Celle. Was DLG Champion Stallion in 1976. Sired two Olympic horses. Of a line known for outstanding conformation & gaits. Sire: Duft II, Dam: Alpecho. Grandsire Dolman, standing from 1937-1953, sired the famous Duellant (1946-1965) who founded a big group of stallions, very well in conformation and movement, and with great dressage talent. His most influential son was Duft II. Darling proved to be a good producer of dressage stallions. Darling’s well known son Dynasty was, before his 1989 death, the best dressage horse in Canada ridden by Cindy Ishoy. One of Darling’s sons used in Germany was Damnatz.
LANDADEL: 1982 is one of those rarest of creatures - a stallion that is siring top dressage as well as jumping progeny. Indeed at the 2001 World Cups, Landadel was unique in producing representatives in both the dressage and jumping finals, with the exquisite Leondardo ad Vinci in the dressage with Gonnelien Rothenberger, and, in the jumping, Helena Weinberg’s Little Gun. In the 1999/2000 WBFSH standings, Landadel had 14 representatives on the jumping list and three on the dressage. Landadel is regarded as the most important son of Landgraf - and carries a double cross of the great Ladykiller. His dam’s sire, Farnese was famed for this extravagant trot, and was used as a demonstration stallion by the Holsteiner Verband - besides the movement, the line was noted for its great substance and good conformation. Farnese’s son Farmer was on the 1984 German Olympic showjumping team with Franke Sloothaak. Landadel’s stallion sons include Le Cou, Landfriese I, Landstern and Landjonker. Landadel is the sire of four Oldenburg Stallion licensing champions: Lord Kemm, Lagoheidor, Landkaiser and Laudaatio. Perhaps his most famous performer has been the mare, Lady Weingard, who was ridden in her career by Markus Beerbaum.

LANDFRIESE I, tragically died in 1994 after he gave convincing performances at the Bundeschampionaten in Verden and Mannheim and had his first wins at S-level. His full brother Landfriese II was the winner of the Weser-Ems Championship in 1997 in his age-class and was a successful Bundeschampionat-finalist and second best approved stallion of his year. Their sire, the great Holstein, Landadel was listed in sixth place in the WBFSH Top 10 Jumping Sires 1999/2000.

LANDSIEGER I: 1991 Oldenburger DE 333330482591 Br. Approved 1994 with score of 125.07 6/53. Approved Oldenburg, Hannover and Oldenburg Jumper Society. Progeny including Loxley 57 ridden by Michael Whitaker, Zallina ridden by Heiko Schmidt and Light money ridden by Andreas Knippling, have all been successful at Grand Prix.

Sire Line

LORD, 1967 Br 168cm Holsteiner Stamm 1298. International 3 day event horse. Famous sire. A top progenitor and “jewel in the crown” of modern Holstein breeding. Produced international show jumpers and elegant horses with exceptional movement. In FN ratings, was 1st of his age group, 144 for dressage and 192/7 for jumpers. In WBFSH 1995-1996 was 10th for jumping. Sire: Ladykiller, Dam: Viola.

AHORN Z, 1979 was an immediate success at stud, producing state premium mares and a string of stallion sons, as well as successful competitors. Ahorn Z competed internationally as did his graded sons Acord I, Amaro, Antares and Aar. He also has a number of other progeny which have jumped with success such as Lord Arico, Acapulco and Dobel’s Gettina. One of his first sons, Acord I was a noted sire in Bavaria before moving to the United States, his full-brother Acord II was reserve champion of the 5 year olds at the Bundeschampionate in 1992. In 1996 Acord III’s youngest full-brother became the Brazilian champion stallion. As a broodmare sire, Ahorn has also been very successful. The international jumping star – and top sire – Lux Z, is out of Apocalypte Z, a daughter of Ahorn Z. While the exciting stallion, Lordanos is out of W-Ashely, by Ahorn.

CALYPSO I, 1973, Bay 16.3 hands. With a solid build he was still a very elegant stallion. He transmitted his quality and his versatility to his progeny. He has both dressage stars, as well as international jumpers. He is said to be one of the most significant sires and most uniform producer of elegant performance horses. He is considered an important pre-potent sire that consistently produced fabulous gaits and scopey movements in his get. He has 10 approved stallion sons and over 140 approved daughters. He is a super star. Calypso I appears twice in the pedigree of Lokomotion’s sire Lordanos.

LORDANOS, 1993 Bay, Holstein, line 776, 16.2 ½ hands can look back on a growing number of highly successful show jumpers such as the striking Lou, who was often unbeatable with Franke Sloothaak in the international Youngster Tour and at the CHIO in Aachen. Lordanos was also victorious with Janne Sosath in the Big Tour and jumped clear over two meter high fences in the puissance. In 2007, Lordanos presented a number of horses that qualified for the Bundeschampionat. After Lumos' victory in Warendorf in 2004, Light On was a high placed finalist in the class for five year olds in 2007. The top priced Verden auction horse Lohengrin became the Hanoverian Show Jumper Champion and another son won the licensing in Finland. Among Lordanos’ off-spring you also find Lord, a successful three-star horse, the multiple Grand Prix winner Laokoon, Loriot, winner of the Italian Show Jumping Championships as well as Lord Sandro DDH, the Oldenburg Vice Champion under Ulli Kirchhoff. In Verden he presented the second Reserve Champion with emphasis on jumping and in Oldenburg a premium stallion sold for 125,000 Euros along with another licensed son. The number of licensed Lordanos sons has risen to more than 20. In Switzerland, one of his foals won the Championships of Avenches. Lordanos’ breeding record has exceeded highest expectations and he has proved to reliably pass on his willingness to perform, rideability and ability to jump. Lordanos' career began by winning a series of nearly 40 tests for young jumpers and ever since he was eight he has been successful in advanced (S) level competitions – as a "family horse", winning advanced (S) level tests with all three Sosaths that ride.
